Groundbreaking research project aims to transform retail analytics through multimodal AI innovation.
The Center for AI Value at ETH Zurich has been awarded a competitive ETH Research Grant to advance pioneering work in multimodal representation learning for retail analytics. The four-year project will investigate how advanced AI techniques can unlock new possibilities in retail intelligence by unifying visual, textual, and behavioral data.
This grant supports our mission to bridge the gap between state-of-the-art AI research and practical business applications. The research will focus on several key objectives:
- Developing novel transformer-based prediction models that combine multiple data types
- Addressing current limitations in processing time series data with transformers
- Creating robust frameworks for multimodal data modeling that can generalize across different retail contexts
- Advancing representation learning for retail intelligence
The project, set to begin in early 2025, represents a significant step forward in applying cutting-edge AI techniques to retail analytics. This funding recognition from ETH Zurich underscores both the innovative nature and potential impact of the Center’s research agenda in advancing AI applications for business.
